Coverage

Statistics describe records retained by this service, not necessarily every UK insolvency or an official insolvency rate. Counts are affected by publication timing, coverage, classification, matching, retention and correction. Industry and location may be missing, historic or based on the strongest available classification.

Comparisons

Period comparisons must be read with the displayed filters, dates and methodology. A rise or fall in records does not by itself establish a change in economic conditions, causation or risk. Small samples can produce unstable percentages and should be treated with particular caution.

Maps and rankings

Maps show relative distribution within selected records and do not measure the financial health of every business in an area. Rankings reflect the categories held in the dataset and may change after corrections, reclassification or new imports.

Reuse

When republishing permitted aggregate results, identify Company Insolvency Register UK, state the retrieval date, preserve material qualifications and link to the methodology. Do not present our analysis as official statistics or imply endorsement.
